I remember how in one of his letters former American President Gerald Ford praised the American inspirer of Projekt Šance. I was therefore aware of this preventative and humanitarian programme some years ago. I consider it to be very meaningful and beneficial and offer it my full support. Even in Prague we are now beginning to become accustomed to decisions which are short-sighted and insufficiently justified, decisions that work against the people over time. One such decision, unfortunately, is the effort being made by the City District of Prague 5 to terminate a contract on the use of the Dům Šance (House of Chances).
